What is Word template automation?
Word template automation means turning a repeated Word document — an offer letter, a contract, a report — into something you complete by answering questions rather than retyping. Instead of hunting through the document for every place a name or date appears, you fill each value once and it is written everywhere it belongs.
Do I have to rebuild my templates in another tool?
No. Template Helper reads the ordinary .docx templates you already have. You mark the variable parts with square brackets — for example [Client Name] — and the add-in turns them into a form. There is no separate template repository to populate and no proprietary format to migrate to.
Can it handle conditional clauses and optional sections?
Yes. An expression like [Full-time OR Part-time] becomes a dropdown, and optional blocks can be included or removed depending on the answers. That is document assembly — building the right document from a single template — done inside Word.
How is this different from a document automation platform?
Platforms such as the larger legal automation suites ask you to move your templates and content into their system.
